Overview

A global leader in air travel intelligence from the UK urgently needed to aggregate real-time flight details from various airline and travel websites. We had to monitor and extract live flight details like airline schedules, flight status, boarding time, flight duration, departure time, delays, and cancellations of 80,000 flights across 156 airports.

Challenges

We regularly tracked flight details across various aviation and travel-based companies. Flight status and schedule information were time-sensitive and routinely altered, making the extraction more complicated and cumbersome. Details of around 80,000 flights had to be extracted from over 80+ constantly changing websites.

Solutions

Our data experts correctly identified the ideal sources among the various travel and flight websites and ranked them based on their reliability and availability. More than 100 websites were identified. Using ML algorithms, we automated the extraction of live flight information, such as airline schedules, flight status, boarding time, flight duration, departure time, delays, and cancellations, from these identified sites. The aggregated flight information was delivered in XML format to aid in easy integration with the client systems.
